Applications are invited for the position of Postdoctoral Research Associate in Porphyrin Nanobelt Chemistry to work under the supervision of Professor Harry L. Anderson for a period of up to 36 months. The project involves organic synthesis and is funded by the European Research Council.

Applicants must hold a PhD in Chemistry (or be close to completion and have submitted a thesis before taking up the appointment). The research requires experience in multi-step organic synthesis, including the synthesis of extended π-systems, as well as physical organic chemistry or spectroscopy. You will be expected to manage your own academic research and administrative activities. This involves small-scale project management, to co-ordinate multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines.

The post will be based in the Department of Chemistry, Chemistry Research Laboratory and is available from 1st January 2027.

The closing date for applications is 12.00 midday, 17 August 2026. Interviews will be held on 26 August, or as soon as possible thereafter.

Salary (£) : Grade 7: £39,424 - £47,779 per annum inclusive of Oxford University Weightage
