Sir William Dunn School of Pathology, South Parks Road, Oxford
We are seeking to appoint a lab technician to join the Mali lab based in the Sir William Dunn School of Pathology, University of Oxford.
The successful candidate will support lab members in a project focused on understanding the role of dynein axonemal assembly factors (DNAAFs) in the transport and regulation of axonemal dynein motors that drive the motion of cilia.
This job will primarily involve research using various cellular and molecular biology techniques, such as mammalian and insect cell culture, protein purification using an AKTA Pure FPLC system, protein-protein interaction assays, Alpha Fold and Chimera X protein structure modelling as well as cellular bioimaging.
Additionally, the job will involve technician duties such as ordering and re-stocking reagents, lab database management and assistance in general lab organisation etc.
The position would ideally suit someone looking to gain more lab experience before starting a Ph D.
This is a fixed-term appointment available for 10 months.
