The Centre for the Study of African Economies (CSAE) is a leading development economics research centre at the University of Oxford. Its researchers are based across the Department of Economics, the Blavatnik School of Government (BSG), and the Oxford Department of International Development (ODID). CSAE engages with a wide range of stakeholders, including academic development economists, senior policymakers from governments and NGOs, as well as colleagues involved in fieldwork and outreach activities.

CSAE organises four major events each year: a three‑day international conference in March attended by more than 400 participants; a Roundtable for African Central Bankers; a workshop for early career researchers; and a seminar series.
