Help turn data into insight that supports decision‑making across the Humanities Division.

Contract type: Fixed Term for 3 years

Hours: Full time (part time up to 0.8 considered)

About the role:

Reporting primarily to the Head of Building Operations, with matrix line management to the Deputy Divisional Registrar, you will provide business intelligence support to the Humanities Division and Divisional Board. You will work with colleagues to understand what data is needed, where it comes from and how it can be turned into clear, timely and useful reporting. A key part of the role is developing robust systems for gathering specialist and non‑specialist data, then using that information to support strategic and operational decision‑making. You will create dashboards, visualisations and reporting tools that help colleagues spot trends, identify issues and communicate findings effectively. The role also involves improving how data is collected, stored and shared, including exploring opportunities to automate routine tasks, strengthen data quality and make analysis more efficient.

About you:

You will have experience of developing and maintaining reporting solutions that respond to evolving business needs, and the confidence to translate user requirements into clear, accessible and accurate outputs. Practical experience with Microsoft Power BI is essential, together with an understanding of how Power Automate can improve the efficiency, consistency and timeliness of reporting activities. You will be comfortable integrating data from a range of sources and structuring it so it can be used effectively for reporting and visualisation. Strong attention to detail is important, as is the ability to spot errors, question data quality and explain findings clearly to a range of audiences. Experience of working with suppliers to improve reporting processes, automation and data integrity would be valuable, and knowledge of data warehousing or forecasting methods would be an advantage.

What we offer:

  • 38 days’ annual leave
  • Family leave schemes and a comprehensive range of childcare services
  • Cycle loan scheme and discounted bus travel and Season Ticket travel loans
  • Membership to a variety of social and sports clubs

Committed to equality and valuing diversity. We welcome applications from a broad and diverse range of applicants: if you have any access needs or requirements to make your application journey more accessible, please let us know and we will do our best to facilitate.
