Based at our Headington Campus (Hybrid), you will report to the Senior Applicant Compliance Officer. This is a full‑time, permanent role. Occasional weekend working will be required to support at peak times or recruitment events.
About the Team
The Admissions Office sits within the Directorate of Marketing, Recruitment and Engagement. The Applicant Compliance team provides a high‑quality, customer‑focused service in issuing CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Study) to international applicants and agents, and ensures compliance with UKVI regulations.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and issue CAS for prospective International students by undertaking careful checks, verifying qualifications, and ensuring 100% accuracy within agreed deadlines.
- Track all pending documents required for CAS issuance and communicate regularly with students who have accepted an offer and paid a deposit.
- Provide an efficient and accurate enquiry handling service, offering professional, high‑quality guidance and advice on admissions policy and CAS issuance to applicants, parents, agents, and University staff.
- Use a range of University IT systems, including CRM, Ellucian, and the Home Office’s Sponsorship Management System (SMS).
- Liaise with key internal stakeholders, in particular the International Student Advice and Compliance and Global Recruitment and Partnerships teams.
- Develop and maintain a detailed knowledge of UKVI regulations and the admissions processes.
- Escalate complex or non‑standard applications and CAS requests to the Applicant Compliance Officer for a decision.
Skills
- Educated to Level 3 qualified (A levels or equivalent) including an excellent standard of written and spoken English.
- Experience of delivering and sustaining high standards within a customer‑facing role.
- Proven ability to deliver high levels of accuracy, especially during periods of significant workload.
- Excellent ability to work efficiently and accurately within a database and/or CRM system.
- Ability to understand procedures and regulations, such as UKVI rules, and apply them in a work environment.
- The ability to work flexibly as part of a team and across team boundaries to achieve objectives.
- Knowledge and understanding of the UK and/or international applicant journey is desirable.
Location and Working Life
This is a hybrid role split between the Headington Campus and working from home – approximately two days a week in the office and the remainder at home. The successful candidate will need to be given clearance by the Home Office to be a Level 1 User of the Sponsorship Management System (SMS) and handle Biometric Residence Permits. Employees enjoy a minimum of 25 days holiday, rising with service, plus 8.
