About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic administrative professional, or quick-learning early career individual, to join the Oxford Vaccine Group (OVG) in the Department of Paediatrics as our Administrative Assistant. OVG is a leading clinical research institute, led by Professor Sir Andrew Pollard, conducting studies into new and improved vaccines for adults and children. You will be part of this dynamic team, supporting the world-leading research and day-to-day smooth running of OVG, with opportunities to gain experience in a wide range of administrative tasks and projects.
Key duties of the role include:
- Responding to enquiries
- Booking and rearranging meetings
- Assisting with events
- Leading on administrative duties for the staff induction and leavers programmes
- Preparing paperwork on behalf of colleagues
- Making travel arrangements
- General office administration
This position is offered full-time on a fixed-term contract, initially for one year with the possibility to extend. Please note, whilst we endeavour to support flexible working, this is expected to be an in-office role due to the requirements of the post.

About you
You will be trustworthy, dependable, confident using your own initiative, and able to work well with staff at different levels of seniority. Demonstrable excellent communication, IT and organisational skills are essential, as well as experience in an office environment.
