Academic Clinical Lecturer in Infectious Diseases

Applications are invited from the below listed specialty for one post under the NIHR Integrated Academic Training Pathway. This post is awarded to NHS England Thames Valley via the UK Health Security Agency. It is a fixed-term, four-year post which offers excellent opportunities to undertake high quality research within a clinically excellent environment and to undertake clinical work towards gaining a CCT. In addition to the NIHR funded post available, locally funded posts may also be awarded in parallel, subject to funding and assessment against the stated criteria for the role. Applicants must be medically qualified, have full GMC registration and already hold, or have submitted for a Higher Degree (PhD/DPhil/MD/DM). Applicants must also hold a current National Training Number (NTN).
This NIHR ACL post will be for the following specialty:
- Infectious Diseases: either Infectious Diseases with Medical Microbiology (ID/MM) or Infectious Diseases with General Internal Medicine (ID/GIM), based in theNuffield Department of Medicine, Old Road Campus, Headington, Oxford, OX3 7BN
Candidates for ID/MM may start in post either at ST3 (having completed IMT Yr2) or at ST4 or above training already in ID/MM.
Candidates for ID/GIM may start in post either at ST4 (having completed Group 1 IMT Yr3) or at ST5 or above if training already in ID/GIM.
The closing date for this post is 12 noon on 9 November 2026. Interviews will be held remotely via Teams on 25 November 2026.

Salary (£) : Grade A63 or A67: £40,190 - £82,884 per annum dependent on qualifications and experience, in line with current pay protection and transitional arrangements in the NHS
