Location: Blackheath Hospital, SE3 9UD
Salary: Up to £57,799 per annum DOE inclusive of regional pay allowance
Role
Join a multidisciplinary laboratory team based at Blackheath Village. You will work across Biochemistry, Haematology and Blood Transfusion with full training provided where needed, supporting development across all three sections and contributing to high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities
- Work across Biochemistry, Haematology and Blood Transfusion with exposure to all three disciplines.
- Participate in the full cycle of laboratory duties within a multidisciplinary setup.
- Receive structured training and support to gain competence across each discipline.
- Contribute to a collaborative, patient-focused laboratory service and uphold quality and safety standards.
- Adhere to shift patterns to ensure essential service delivery.
- Maintain compliance with DBS requirements as part of on-boarding where applicable.
Working Pattern
- Routine shift: 9:00 am – 5:15 pm
- Lates: 12:45 pm – 9:00 pm (6–8 sessions per month)
- Nights: 8:15 pm – 8:30 am (0–4 sessions per month)
- Weekend Night shifts: 5:00 pm – 9:15 am the following day (generally two per month, may be nights or days)
- Must be prepared to work the above shift pattern or a typical 40-hour week depending on service needs
