We are looking for a part-time Research Associate to join the team working on the AHRC-funded project Community Jazz Big Bands in England under the leadership of Professor Catherine Tackley. The project addresses questions of how non-professional jazz big bands exemplify ideas of community, including how they provide a way for large numbers of musicians and their audiences to engage with jazz and contribute to the function and value of jazz in England.
Working closely with the project's other Research Associate, you will conduct observations and interviews with community jazz big bands and analyse and code the resultant data. Drawing on your specialisms and interests arising from the data, you will work collaboratively and individually on research outputs and contribute to the project’s public engagement and impact activities.

If you are still awaiting your PhD to be awarded you will be appointed at Grade 6, spine point 30. Upon written confirmation that you have been awarded your PhD, your salary will be increased to Grade 7, spine point 31.
