We’re looking for a friendly, enthusiastic, and community-minded Hub Barista to help us deliver an exceptional experience to our community. The role:
- Prepare and serve a variety of food and drinks.
- Welcome and respond to queries from a diverse community of college members, students and visitors.
- Maintain food safety, hygiene and allergen standards, keeping our spaces clean and inviting at all times.
- Replenish stock and help keep the café running smoothly day-to-day.
- Support colleagues by opening or closing the Café, handling transactions and providing support to other members of the team when required.
This is a varied and hands-on role, perfect for someone who enjoys a lively environment and takes pride in delivering great service. This is a variable hours’, permanent role, with some evening and weekend work to support the needs of the College. Your hours will be worked on an as-required basis, meaning you will have no regular pattern of hours.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience of providing great customer service and a genuine desire to make people feel welcome.
- Experience in preparing food (such as sandwiches and soups), with an understanding of food safety and hygiene allergen regulations.
- Level 1 Food Safety Qualification (or equivalent experience).
- The ability to stay calm during busy periods, work flexibly, and use your initiative - both independently and as part of a close-knit team.
