Overview
As Head of Technical Production, you will own the technical delivery of events and live experiences at a leading London venue. You will partner with producers, creative teams and external partners to transform ambitious concepts into technically feasible productions. You will oversee lighting, sound, AV, staging and production infrastructure while managing budgets and supplier relationships. You will lead in-house and external technical teams, ensuring high standards of safety, quality and operational excellence. This is a pivotal role shaping the technical journey of high-profile experiences.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of all technical aspects from planning to delivery
- Collaborate with internal and external producers, creative teams and clients to make ideas technically achievable
- Oversee lighting, sound, AV, staging, and production infrastructure across the venue
- Manage technical budgets, procurement, contractors and supplier relationships
- Establish technical standards, oversee health and safety, manage production schedules and drive continuous improvement of capabilities
- Lead and coordinate in-house technical teams, freelancers and external production partners with clear guidance
Key requirements
- Significant experience in senior technical production roles within leading venues, live events or experiential environments
- Extensive technical knowledge across lighting, audio, video, staging and production systems
- Proven experience delivering complex, high-profile events with producers
- Strong commercial awareness including budget management, procurement and supplier negotiations
- Experience managing technical teams, freelancers and external production companies
- Excellent knowledge of production health and safety, technical compliance and best practices
