The Club

A beautifully established private members’ club overlooking the River Thames, with a loyal membership and a strong reputation.

  • 80-cover restaurant
  • 56 bedrooms
  • 4 event spaces
  • Breakfast, lunch and dinner

  • 2 Rosette-level food operation

  • Closed for major holidays, including part of Christmas

The Role

You’ll lead a team of 12 chefs and take genuine ownership of the kitchen.

This is not a role where you’ll be tied up with endless service. You’ll have the time and space to focus on the food, your team and the wider operation.

You’ll

  • Create and develop seasonal British menus
  • Have full control over the food offering
  • Lead, mentor and develop the kitchen team
  • Maintain 2 Rosette-level standards
  • Manage GP, labour and compliance
  • Drive consistency and quality
  • Maintain strong food safety and EHO standards
  • Work closely with the Chief Executive
  • Sit on the senior leadership team
  • Contribute a quarterly feature to the club journal
  • Who We’re Looking For

You’ll be an experienced Head Chef with a strong background in British cooking and quality-led kitchens.

You’ll ideally have worked in a high‑end restaurant, hotel, private members’ club or fine dining environment.

We’re looking for someone who

  • Has strong British cuisine and produce knowledge
  • Has proven Head Chef experience
  • Can lead and develop an established team
  • Understands the commercial side of running a kitchen
  • Takes pride in food quality and standards
  • Is organised, approachable and a good communicator
  • Is comfortable working with senior stakeholders

Private members’ club experience is desirable but not essential.
