We are supporting a PE-backed SaaS business entering a critical scale-up phase. With strong product-market fit and ambitious growth targets, they are seeking a Finance Director to professionalise the finance function, act as a true business partner to the CEO and PE sponsors, and help drive value creation.
This is a senior, handsāon role suited to someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, is comfortable building from first principles, and can balance strategic thinking with operational execution.
Key Responsibilities- Act as a trusted partner to the CEO and leadership team on strategy, growth initiatives, pricing, and investment decisions.
- Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and longārange modelling aligned to the PE value creation plan.
- Support fundraising, refinancing, and exit planning (data room readiness, due diligence, investor materials).
- Provide clear, insightful reporting to the Board and PE stakeholders, including KPI dashboards and performance commentary.
- Own the endātoāend finance function: management accounts, statutory accounts, cash flow, tax, and audit.
- Ensure robust financial controls, processes, and systems appropriate for a PEābacked environment.
- Oversee revenue recognition (SaaS / subscription models), ARR/MRR reporting, churn, cohort analysis, and unit economics.
- Manage relationships with auditors, advisors, banks, and PE operating partners.
- Lead improvements to finance systems, tools, and data (e.accounting software, FP&A tools, CRM integrations).
- Build scalable processes to support rapid growth and international expansion where relevant.
- Ensure accurate, timely financial information to support decisionāmaking across the business.
- Build, develop, and lead a highāperforming finance team (or operate lean and handsāon initially).
- Set standards for excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement within finance.
- Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent).
- Experience as a Finance Director, Head of Finance, or senior finance leader in a SaaS or subscriptionābased business.
- Strong exposure to PEābacked environments (or similar investorāled, highāgrowth settings).
- Deep understanding of SaaS metrics: ARR, MRR, churn, LTV/CAC, cohort analysis.
- Comfortable operating both strategically and tactically in a scaling business.
- Experience supporting PE transactions, refinancing, or exits.
- Background in a startup or scaleāup rather than large corporation.
- Experience implementing or upgrading finance systems.
