We are partnering with a highly successful, ambitious and growing hospitality group to appoint a commercially driven, hands on Chief Marketing Officer. Operating a portfolio of established and emerging consumer brands, with locations across the UK, the business has built a significant presence in the hospitality market. We are looking for someone who combines genuine brand instinct with commercial sharpness. Someone who understands what makes consumers tick, knows how to build brands that resonate and, crucially, can translate marketing activity into measurable business performance. This is an opportunity for a driven, entrepreneurial leader who wants to make a real impact rather than operate within layers of corporate structure.

The Opportunity

Reporting into the senior leadership team, the CMO will take responsibility for the marketing strategy and execution across a diverse portfolio of consumer facing brands. The remit is broad, spanning brand positioning, customer engagement, digital performance, PR, new concept launches and commercial growth. You will inherit a lean marketing function and work closely with operational leaders to ensure marketing is connected to what is happening on the ground. The business moves quickly, and the successful candidate will need to be equally comfortable setting the strategic direction and rolling up their sleeves to deliver it.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and drive the marketing agenda across a portfolio of established and emerging brands
  • Develop distinctive brand strategies that strengthen customer engagement, drive footfall and support profitable growth
  • Bring a genuinely commercial approach to marketing investment, ensuring activity delivers tangible returns
  • Lead marketing initiatives around new openings, brand development and the launch of new concepts
  • Work closely with operations and senior leadership to respond quickly to trading performance, consumer trends and market opportunities
  • Maximise the impact of PR, media, partnerships, digital channels and creative campaigns
  • Lead, inspire and develop a lean, talented marketing team, creating a culture of accountability, pace and delivery
  • Balance longer term brand building with the agility to react to immediate commercial opportunities

Experience

  • We are looking for a high energy, commercially astute marketing leader with a strong understanding of consumer brands and a genuine passion for building businesses.
  • A proven track record of driving commercial performance through effective brand and marketing strategies
  • Strong consumer understanding and the ability to create compelling, differentiated brand propositions
  • Experience within a fast paced, consumer-facing environment, potentially spanning multi-site hospitality
  • A clear understanding of how marketing influences revenue, customer behaviour and profitability
  • An entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to achieve significant results without relying on large budgets or extensive teams
  • The confidence to challenge thinking, make decisions and operate as a true commercial partner to the wider business
  • A hands-on, action oriented leadership style with the energy and resilience to thrive in a fast-moving environment
