We’re looking for an experienced Digital Delivery Lead to join a large, fast-paced organisation and take ownership of the delivery of customer-facing digital products and services.You will lead and develop an in-house software engineering team, working closely with Product Owners and wider technology stakeholders to turn business priorities into realistic delivery plans and high-quality software.This role needs someone who combines strong Agile delivery experience with people leadership and a solid understanding of software engineering. You will be comfortable challenging priorities, managing competing demands and balancing new feature delivery with maintaining existing platforms and addressing technical debt.The roleLeading, coaching and developing a high-performing, multidisciplinary software engineering teamDriving iterative software delivery using Agile methodologiesWorking with Product Owners to translate business requirements and roadmaps into achievable delivery and release plansManaging delivery against engineering capacity, capability, priorities and dependenciesEnsuring appropriate standards across quality, performance, security, maintainability, resilience and operabilityBalancing new product/features with production support, platform maintenance, refactoring and technical debtManaging dependencies across technology and business teamsDriving continuous improvement across engineering delivery and team performanceManaging relationships with third-party SaaS suppliers, including associated budgetsSupporting the recruitment, onboarding, development and retention of engineering talentExperience requiredProven experience leading, coaching and mentoring in-house software engineering/technology teamsStrong experience delivering software and digital products within an Agile environmentExperience creating technology roadmaps, release plans, delivery plans and estimatesStrong stakeholder management skills, including the confidence to challenge requirements and prioritiesExperience managing cross-team dependencies and competing delivery prioritiesA good understanding of the software development lifecycle, from development and testing through to deployment and production supportExperience balancing new feature development with BAU/support and technical debtExperience managing third-party technology or SaaS suppliersA strong focus on software quality, continuous improvement and delivering measurable business and customer valueThis would suit an established Digital Delivery Lead, Technical Delivery Lead, Engineering Delivery Lead or Software Delivery Manager who enjoys leading engineering teams while remaining close to the delivery of digital products
