An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced M&E Manager to join the Venue Operations team. Reporting to the Head of Facilities, you will be responsible for leading a multi-skilled engineering team and managing specialist contractors across a complex, high-footfall environment. You will ensure all mechanical and electrical systems operate safely, efficiently and reliably, supporting both day-to-day operations and major live events. This is a highly visible role, requiring a hands-on approach, strong leadership and the ability to respond quickly in a fast-paced, event-led setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and manage up-to-date PPM and PEAP schedules, working closely with supervisors to drive task completion via CAFM reporting
- Develop, implement and continuously improve maintenance procedures and processes
- Lead, train, coach and develop a multi-skilled in-house engineering team and external suppliers
- Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements, health & safety legislation and codes of practice
- Oversee preventative and reactive maintenance across M&E systems, including electrical, mechanical, HVAC and associated plant
- Manage maintenance budgets, monitor expenditure and implement corrective actions where required
- Monitor plant and equipment inventory, ensuring agreed minimum stock levels are maintained
- Deliver SLA and KPI performance in line with CAFM system requirements
- Act as point of escalation for critical and out-of-hours faults
- Fulfil technical duty manager responsibilities during events on a rota basis
- Review existing maintenance processes to improve efficiency and identify energy-saving initiatives using building analytics
- Conduct regular audits to ensure statutory compliance and high operational standards
- Support internal and external audits as required
- Ensure all maintenance logs, compliance records and reports are kept accurate and audit-ready
- Manage engineering rotas to ensure sufficient coverage for events and peak operational periods
- Act as L8 Responsible Person as designated by the Duty Holder
Skills & Experience
- Relevant trade qualification (e.g. City & Guilds 2365) or equivalent NVQ Level 3
- Proven experience leading multi-skilled engineering teams within large commercial or public venues
- Health & Safety qualification (e.g. IOSH)
- Strong technical knowledge across electrical, mechanical, HVAC and building services systems
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Authorised Person (LV/HV) β desirable
- BMS, LCS and EMS experience β desirable
- Strong understanding of safe systems of work and statutory compliance
- Excellent IT and administrative skills (Microsoft Office)
- IPAF / PASMA β desirable
- Full UK driving licence
- LCA 9010 or equivalent L8 Responsible Person qualification
