About the Organisation:
The organisation is the governing body for the sport in England, working in partnership with governing bodies in Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland to develop it at all levels. It supports clubs and members by providing training, coaching qualifications, and safeguarding guidance.
Additionally, it manages talent pathways to develop athletes for international competitions, including the Olympics and Paralympics.
The Role:
This is a critical leadership position , responsible for restructuring and strengthening the finance function. The ideal Finance Director/CFO will be an experienced finance leader with a track record of transformation , who can lay strong financial foundations and build a high-performing team .
Key responsibilities include:
- Finance transformation β restructure the finance team and implement best-in-class financial processes.
- Financial strategy & governance β oversee financial planning, reporting, and compliance for a complex, multi-entity organisation.
- Stakeholder management β work closely with funding bodies, the board, and senior leadership to ensure financial sustainability.
- Budgeting & forecasting β lead financial planning to support long-term strategic goals.
- Resilience & leadership β manage complex discussions with key stakeholders, including a challenging finance committee chair.
- Team building β recruit and develop a strong finance team, setting the organisation up for long-term success.
Who Weβre Looking For:
- Strong finance leadership experience , ideally at Finance Director or CFO level.
- Proven turnaround and transformation expertise , with experience in restructuring finance teams.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills , with the ability to navigate complex conversations.
- Experience in grant-funded or multi-entity organisations (a plus but not essential).
- A proactive, hands-on approach , able to balance strategic leadership with day-to-day finance operations.
