We are supporting a science-driven sports nutrition brand dedicated to powering elite athletes and dedicated individuals. It is distinguished by its commitment to research, quality, and transparency, making it the brand of choice for professionals and enthusiasts globally.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Finance & Leadership
- Partner with the CEO and department heads to develop and execute the company's financial strategy, long-term business plan, and annual budget.
- Provide strategic insights and financial modelling to evaluate new market entry, product launches, pricing strategies, and potential M&A activities.
- Lead the company's fundraising efforts, including preparing investor materials, managing due diligence, and building relationships with banks and investors.
- Serve as a key advisor to the Board of Directors on all financial matters.
- Financial Operations & Control
- Own all aspects of financial management, including accounting, regulatory reporting, tax planning, and compliance.
- Establish and maintain robust financial controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard assets and ensure accuracy.
- Oversee cash flow planning, treasury, and working capital management to ensure liquidity for strategic initiatives.
- Manage relationships with external auditors, legal counsel, and tax advisors.
- Commercial & Operational Partnership
- Develop a deep understanding of unit economics (CAC, LTV, COGS, margin by product/SKU) to guide commercial strategy.
- Partner with Supply Chain and Operations to optimise inventory management, forecast accuracy, and production costing.
- Analyse sales channel performance (D2C, wholesale, retail) and customer cohorts to identify growth and profitability opportunities.
- Implement and manage KPIs and dashboards to provide real-time visibility into business performance for all leaders.
- Team & Systems Development
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing finance team as the company grows.
- Evaluate, select, and implement scalable financial systems (ERP, BI, planning tools) to support rapid growth.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience in a senior finance role, ideally as Finance Director or Head of Finance in a high-growth consumer branded goods (CPG), wellness, or sports nutrition company.
- Deep, hands-on experience with the financial dynamics of a D2C and omnichannel business.
- Expert proficiency in financial modelling, scenario analysis, and strategic planning.
- Strong track record in managing fundraising rounds, investor relations, or debt financing.
- A strategic business partner with exceptional communication skills, capable of translating complex data into actionable insights for non-finance leaders.
- Experience scaling a business internationally (e.g., into the US, EU, or APAC markets).
- Background in managing the financial complexities of inventory, manufacturing, and supply chain in a physical product business.
- Passion for sports, nutrition, and the wellness industry is a plus!
