Our client is a well-established, multi-site operator with a strong reputation in its sector. The organisation is seeking an experienced Finance Transformation Director to lead the modernisation of its finance function.
Lead the modernisation of the finance function through systems, technology, AI, process improvement and data-driven decision-making. The role will be responsible for delivering transformational projects, improving operational efficiency, enhancing reporting capabilities, and developing a high-performing team capable of supporting the organisation's future growth. It also represents a critical position within the leadership pipeline, offering a pathway to a more senior board position (e.g. CEO/CFO/COO) for the right high-potential individual.
Finance Transformation & Technology
- Develop and execute the finance transformation roadmap
- Lead finance systems implementations, upgrades and integrations
- Identify opportunities to leverage AI, automation and digital technologies across finance and wider business processes
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, accuracy and scalability
Leadership & Team Development
- Provide leadership and direction to finance and operational colleagues involved in transformation and systems initiatives
- Coach, mentor and develop finance and operational colleagues to build stronger technical, analytical and commercial capabilities
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation and accountability
- Lead change management programmes, ensuring successful adoption of new systems, processes and technologies
- Build engagement across operational and support teams, helping colleagues embrace new ways of working
- Support succession planning and talent development within the finance function
- Enhance management reporting and business intelligence capabilities
- Develop dashboards and performance metrics to support strategic decision-making
- Improve data quality, governance and accessibility across the organisation
- Ensure leadership teams have timely, accurate and actionable financial and operational insights
Project & Stakeholder Management
- Manage multiple transformation projects simultaneously, ensuring delivery on time and within budget
- Present business cases, progress updates and recommendations to the Executive Team and Board
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers
- Ensure projects deliver measurable financial and operational benefits
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
- Proven leadership experience managing and developing teams
- Strong background in finance transformation, systems implementation and project delivery
- Experience leading organisational change programmes
- Advanced data and reporting skills (Power BI preferred)
- Knowledge of ERP, reporting and business intelligence platforms
- Exposure to AI, automation and digital transformation initiatives
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to influence senior stakeholders
- Excellent communication, coaching and people leadership skills
