An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and commercially driven General Manager to lead a prestigious luxury 4-star hotel in East Sussex.

This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of a well-established brand with a strong reputation for delivering exceptional guest experiences, outstanding service standards, and memorable hospitality. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving operational excellence, commercial performance, and the continued development of the hotel and its team.

Reporting into senior leadership, the General Manager will have full responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the hotel, leading all departments including Rooms, Food & Beverage, Sales, Finance and People. You will be responsible for maximising revenue opportunities, enhancing guest satisfaction, developing talent, and ensuring the hotel continues to deliver against its commercial and service objectives.

We are open to speaking with both experienced General Managers and exceptional Deputy General Managers or Hotel Managers who are ready to take their first step into a full General Manager position.

Responsibilities

  • Provide inspirational leadership across all hotel departments, creating a culture of excellence and accountability.
  • Drive operational performance, guest satisfaction and service standards.
  • Lead the commercial strategy, maximising revenue and profitability across all areas of the business.
  • Develop and execute plans to increase market share and strengthen the hotel's position within the luxury hospitality sector.
  • Build strong relationships with guests, colleagues, stakeholders and local partners.
  • Coach, mentor and develop the leadership team to achieve their full potential.
  • Ensure compliance with all operational, financial and brand standards.
  • Work closely with sales and revenue teams to maximise commercial opportunities.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a General Manager within a luxury, upscale or full-service hotel environment, or ready to step up from a senior operational leadership role.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a proven ability to deliver financial results.
  • A passion for luxury hospitality and creating exceptional guest experiences.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop teams.
  • Strong operational knowledge across Rooms, Food & Beverage and Events.
  • A hands-on and visible leadership style with excellent communication skills.
