An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Director of Engineering to join a prestigious luxury hotel in Central London. This is a senior leadership role within a high-end hospitality environment, requiring a highly professional, hands-on engineering leader who is comfortable operating in a guest-facing, luxury setting.
As Head of Engineering, you will be responsible for the full operation of the hotel's engineering function, ensuring the building, plant, and guest facilities are maintained to the highest standard. You will work closely with senior hotel management and other departments to ensure engineering standards align with operational and guest experience expectations.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure all plant faults and defects are resolved promptly
- Oversee planned and reactive maintenance
- Manage CAFM and BMS systems and ensure documentation is fully up to date
- Maintain accurate shift logs and ensure full resolution of issues
- Carry out daily checks of plant rooms and equipment
- Lead, motivate and develop the engineering team
- Manage contractors and specialist suppliers
- Control engineering stores and inventory
- Create and manage annual engineering budgets
- Lead and deliver CAPEX projects, ensuring delivery on time and within budget
- Manage health & safety compliance across the building
- Champion high standards of professionalism and presentation at all times
- Minimum 10 years' experience in Engineering
- Strong background in hotels or high-end commercial buildings
- Hands-on engineering leader (this is essential)
- Holds the new NEBOSH certificate
- Strong understanding of CAPEX and P&L management
- Confident leading teams and managing performance
