I am very excited to be working on this incredible role with this unique client. We are looking for an experienced, qualified and dynamic Head of Engineering to lead a sizable team across this diverse and multi-faceted estate. This role really is something special and we need an individual with a broad spectrum of knowledge to take the reins and boldly lead and develop their team. This outstanding property sits in the apex space where old meets new. From rare-breed agriculture and heritage crops through to bespoke bio-mass boilers and high-end luxury, they have it all going on.
The ideal candidate:
- You will hold a Degree in an Engineering discipline and be able to demonstrate excellent leadership skills.
- Your experience will have crossed over sectors, possibly within more than one of these areas: manufacturing, hospitality, agriculture, food production, resorts, visitor attractions.
- I would love to speak to anyone who has led estate functions across large-scale wine production / vineyards / brewing that are open to the public.
- Relocation support is available for the right candidate.
- You will need to be genuinely dedicated and passionate about what you do and, importantly, you will need to be comfortable in an environment that is constantly evolving.
Key Responsibilities – A little of what you will do:
- Lead the daily operations of the in-house engineering team and manage external contractors.
- Ensure comprehensive maintenance coverage across all estate assets including buildings, plant, vehicles, IT, H&S and infrastructure.
- Develop, train, and motivate a skilled, adaptable Estate Maintenance Team.
- Plan and deliver proactive and reactive maintenance programmes that align with estate priorities.
- Monitor, control, and report on engineering-related budgets, including capital investment projects.
- Implement systems of continuous improvement across engineering disciplines and practices.
- Participate in the engineering duty rota, including weekend and bank holiday coverage as required.
- Guide and support the H&S team from strategy, policy, procedures to day to day operations.
- Asset management with a focus on preventative maintenance.
- Develop and implement maintenance strategies to optimise asset performance, lifecycle value, and end-of-life planning.
