Salary: £35,000 – £40,000

Location: Hull (1-2 days a week)

We’re working with a fast‑growing technology business that delivers mission‑critical software and infrastructure into high‑volume, customer‑facing environments. Their platform sits at the intersection of hardware, software, networking, and real‑world operations — meaning quality and reliability are absolutely critical. They’re looking for a QA Analyst to help drive quality across a complex ecosystem and bring stronger testing capability into a highly technical, development‑led team. This isn’t a traditional click‑through web testing role. You’ll be working across integrated systems involving POS hardware, wireless/networked environments, local installations, and backend services, helping to ensure issues are identified, reproduced, and resolved quickly.

The Opportunity

This hire is key to improving testing maturity and enabling wider teams to become more self‑sufficient in identifying bugs, validating fixes, and owning quality. You’ll play a hands‑on role in:

  • Supporting bug fixes and customer issue resolution across support and delivery workstreams
  • Creating and executing meaningful test scenarios from scratch
  • Validating fixes across complex integrated systems
  • Setting up and managing test data, including database manipulation
  • Working closely with developers to reproduce issues and verify solutions
  • Helping embed a stronger QA mindset across the wider team

What They’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone with strong manual testing experience who enjoys breaking systems and thinking beyond happy‑path testing. You’ll likely bring:

  • 3–5 years’ experience in manual testing / QA
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Experience testing integrated environments, not just standard web UIs
  • Confidence working with:
    • Databases / test data setup
    • Hardware + software ecosystems
    • Networked or distributed systems
  • Ability to work autonomously without heavily scripted processes

If you enjoy getting under the hood of complex systems and want to make a visible impact, this is a genuinely interesting opportunity.
