About the Role
We’re working with a growing technology-led organisation going through an exciting period of scale and transformation. They’re looking for an Engineering Manager to lead and support multiple development teams, with a strong focus on people, delivery health, and stakeholder alignment. This role isn’t about being the most hands-on coder, it’s about creating the right environment for engineers to do their best work. You’ll work closely with Tech Leads, Product, and senior stakeholders to ensure teams are happy, productive, and delivering value at a sustainable pace.
What You’ll Do
- Lead, coach, and support engineering teams, focusing on growth, wellbeing, and performance
- Run effective 1:1s, performance reviews, and development conversations
- Own delivery health, sprint planning, capacity, and sustainable ways of working
- Act as the main point of contact for delivery updates, risks, and dependencies
- Partner with Tech Leads on resourcing, standards, and ways of working
- Support hiring and team growth as the organisation scales
About You
- Background in managing software engineering teams
- Strong background as a software engineer with solid technical fundamentals
- Comfortable having honest performance and feedback conversations
- Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum / Kanban)
- Confident working with stakeholders and balancing delivery trade-offs
- A people-first leader who cares about team health as much as outcomes
Nice to Have
- Experience in regulated environments (financial services, legal, property, etc.)
- Exposure to platform, DevOps, or reliability-focused teams
- Background working alongside distributed or multi-team setups
- Engineering or computer science degree (or equivalent experience)
