Business Change Lead - Contract - Need SC
Location: North West - Hybrid (2-3 days onsite)
Contract: Initial engagement until January, with strong potential for extension (+1 year)
Start: Late October / ASAP
I'm working with a leading technology consultancy that's building out a team to support a major digital transformation programme within a complex engineering and manufacturing environment.
They're looking for an experienced Business Change Lead to take ownership of the people, process and adoption side of a significant technology transformation.
The technology has already been implemented. The challenge now is ensuring the business, its people and its ways of working successfully adapt to it.
This isn't a role where you'll simply be producing change documentation. You'll be working directly with operational teams, senior stakeholders and potentially trade unions, helping rebuild confidence, overcome resistance and embed meaningful, lasting change.
What you'll be doing:
- Leading business change and adoption activities across a complex technology transformation programme.
- Engaging with operational teams, senior stakeholders and union representatives to understand concerns and build confidence.
- Assessing existing ways of working, defining future-state processes and supporting their adoption.
- Identifying barriers to change and developing practical strategies to overcome them.
- Supporting communications, training, business readiness and user adoption.
- Working closely with project delivery teams to ensure technology and business processes are aligned.
- Building credibility quickly within a challenging stakeholder environment and delivering tangible improvements.
What we're looking for:
- Proven experience as a Business Change Lead, Change Manager or Business Transformation Lead.
- Strong experience delivering business change within manufacturing, engineering, utilities, energy, construction or similarly complex operational environments.
- Experience engaging with unionised workforces and navigating challenging stakeholder relationships.
- A track record of delivering technology-led business transformation and improving user adoption.
- Strong process improvement, stakeholder engagement and change management capabilities.
- The maturity, resilience and confidence to challenge constructively and influence at all levels.
- Previous consultancy experience would be advantageous.
- Defence experience and existing SC clearance would be beneficial but are not essential, subject to client security requirements.
Why consider it?
This is an opportunity to join a high-profile transformation programme where the technology is already in place, but the real challenge is making it work for the people using it.
You'll have the opportunity to influence the change approach, work closely with an experienced consulting team and make a visible impact from the outset.
The initial engagement runs until January, with strong potential for longer-term work as the programme develops.
