The Role
This is a hands-on Finance Business Systems Analyst role sitting at the intersection of finance operations and systems analysis. You’ll be the first point of contact for finance system queries and change, working closely with a distributed finance team to improve processes, handle high transaction volumes, and make the systems work better for the people using them. The role is genuinely 50/50 between business analysis and SQL/data work, so it suits someone who enjoys both stakeholder interaction and getting stuck into the technical detail.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Acting as the primary contact for finance system issues, improvements, and requests
- Working closely with finance stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into system changes
- Running and facilitating workshops to gather requirements and improve processes
- Writing and maintaining SQL queries to support reporting, analysis, and operational insight
- Supporting high-volume transaction processing environments (thousands of completions)
- Proactively identifying inefficiencies and driving improvements across finance systems
- Collaborating with a remote finance team, ensuring clear communication and ownership
What They’re Looking For
- Experience as a Business Systems Analyst, Finance Systems Analyst, or similar
- Strong SQL skills and comfort working directly with data
- Background working in high-volume, transaction-heavy environments
- Confident running workshops and engaging finance stakeholders
- Proactive, self-starting mindset — someone who takes initiative rather than waits for direction
- Comfortable in a hands-on role where delivery matters
Why This Role?
- Real ownership and visibility
- A mix of people, process, and technical work
- Exposure to large-scale transaction volumes and meaningful finance operations
