We’re looking for an experienced Agile Coach to join a growing digital organisation and take ownership of how projects are delivered across multiple teams.

This is a senior delivery and operational leadership role where you’ll have genuine influence over delivery standards, processes and ways of working across the business.

Rather than managing the day-to-day detail of individual projects, you’ll define how great delivery should work, ensuring teams have the right frameworks, processes and support to deliver consistently.

The Role

You’ll work across multiple cross-functional squads, each responsible for delivering its own projects.

You'll embed within these teams will manage day-to-day delivery, while you’ll provide the overarching agile methodology, standards, coaching and operational structure they work within.

You’ll also provide functional leadership to the wider delivery community, supporting performance, development and progression while continuously improving delivery capability across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and continuously improve the organisation’s Agile delivery methodology and ways of working.
  • Establish consistent delivery standards across multiple squads and projects.
  • Define effective sprint cadences, ceremonies and delivery processes.
  • Coach and support embedded Project Managers through complex delivery challenges.
  • Functionally line-manage and develop Project Managers and wider delivery professionals.
  • Lead 1:1s, performance reviews, goal setting and development planning.
  • Establish strong risk, assumption, issue and dependency management (RAID).
  • Identify and resolve risks, blockers and dependencies across multiple teams.
  • Lead capacity planning, resource forecasting and allocation across projects.
  • Monitor delivery performance and report against key delivery KPIs.
  • Help ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to scope.
  • Continuously improve operational processes while avoiding unnecessary bureaucracy.
  • Build and lead a strong delivery community, encouraging knowledge sharing and best practice.
  • Improve the use of delivery and operational tools such as Jira, Confluence and resource-planning platforms.
  • Identify opportunities to use automation and AI to improve productivity and reduce administration.
  • Work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Support the recruitment, onboarding and development of delivery professionals.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone with strong experience within Agile delivery, digital project delivery or delivery leadership who is comfortable operating across multiple teams.

You’ll ideally have:

  • Strong experience leading Agile delivery across multiple projects, teams or squads.
  • Excellent knowledge of Agile methodologies and delivery best practice.
  • Experience defining or improving delivery frameworks and ways of working.
  • Experience coaching and developing everyone.
  • Strong risk, issue and dependency management experience.
  • Experience with capacity planning, resource management and forecasting.
  • Strong commercial awareness around budgets, utilisation and project performance.
  • Experience using tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Excellent stakeholder and client management skills.
  • The confidence to make senior operational and delivery decisions independently.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify root causes.
  • A collaborative leadership style focused on enabling teams rather than controlling them.
  • An interest in technology, automation and AI and how they can improve operational efficiency.

What Success Looks Like

You’ll create an environment where teams have the autonomy to deliver while working within clear and consistent standards.

You’ll help ensure projects are delivered successfully, risks are identified early, resources are planned effectively and delivery professionals have the coaching and structure they need to perform at their best.

Most importantly, you’ll have the opportunity to shape how delivery works across the organisation, creating scalable processes and ways of working that support the continued growth of the business.
