This is a rare opportunity to combine deep technical work with building an engineering organisation from the ground up — in an industry worth $9 trillion.
You’ll join a well-funded, fast-growing start-up already delivering breakthrough AI solutions to enterprise clients. With an existing team of 8 senior engineers and plans to grow to 50+, we need a leader who can code alongside the team today while scaling the organisation for tomorrow.
What You’ll Be Doing
Short-term:
- Contribute production code daily to solve high-impact engineering problems
- Architect next-generation AI systems that push the boundaries of what’s possible
- Define technical excellence standards and processes from day one
- Drive architectural decisions that position the platform years ahead of the market
Long-term:
- Build and lead a high-performing engineering organisation across multiple product lines
- Partner with product leadership to translate ambitious AI capabilities into market-ready products
- Create a culture that delivers innovation at speed without sacrificing quality
- Balance short-term delivery with a sustainable technical strategy
What We’re Looking For
- 15+ years in software engineering, with 5+ years scaling and leading technical teams
- Proven hands-on coding ability — ideally in Python (other modern languages considered)
- Deep understanding of system design, APIs, databases, and distributed systems
- Experience shipping complex products end-to-end, from concept to scale
- Track record of growing engineering teams from 10 to 100+ people
- Background in AI/ML, document processing, or complex workflow systems (desirable)
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to influence across product and business teams
- Startup experience, ideally scaling from Series A to growth stage
Why Join?
- Shape and scale an engineering organisation that will transform an entire industry
- Stay technical while stepping into a high-impact leadership role
- Work on cutting-edge AI technology solving problems once thought impossible
- Significant equity package and a clear path to VP-level leadership
