We’re looking for an SRE-focused Platform Manager to take full ownership of a mission-critical, cloud-native platform reshaping how the UK housing market operates. In this role, you’ll lead the UK Site Reliability function, drive incident and operational excellence, and build the reliability, observability and service governance frameworks that will underpin a nationally scaled financial technology platform.

This is a rare opportunity to define the operational model for a proven global product entering the UK market. You’ll set the standards, shape the processes, and build the culture that ensures the platform is stable, secure, performant and compliant — while working closely with senior engineering, architecture, security and global technology teams.

If you thrive in platform operations, incident leadership, and elevating reliability through modern SRE practices, this is a chance to own a high-profile platform and influence an entire industry.

What You’ll Bring

  • Strong background in SRE, Platform Engineering, or Reliability Management, with experience owning platform stability and service operations.
  • Hands-on familiarity with AWS, Linux, Terraform, CI/CD and cloud-native environments.
  • Experience with modern observability tooling (Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, New Relic, PagerDuty, etc.).
  • Confident leading major incident response (P1/P2), driving technical triage and structured communication.
  • Ability to manage and grow a small team of platform/SRE engineers.
  • Understanding of risk, audit, service governance, DR/BCP, and operating in regulated sectors (FCA/PRA advantageous).
  • Working knowledge of SQL/PostgreSQL for diagnostics and real-time investigations.
  • Clear, calm communication style able to collaborate with engineering, product, security and senior stakeholders.

Role Overview

As the UK SRE Manager, you’ll lead the reliability and operational maturity of the platform. You’ll own uptime, incident management, observability, change control, service readiness and operational risk — acting as the UK focal point between global engineering and local service, support and compliance teams.

Key Focus Areas

  • End-to-end ownership of UK platform operations — including observability, incident readiness, releases, patching, upgrades and service transitions.
  • Lead major incidents with authority, co-ordinating technical response, ensuring rapid restoration, and driving post-incident learning and continuous improvement.
  • Define and manage SLAs/SLOs/KRIs, chair operational governance forums, and manage operational relationships with global platform teams and key suppliers.
  • Strengthen reliability practices through proactive monitoring, smart alerting, dashboards, capacity/resilience planning and DR/BCP validation.
  • Build and lead a high-performing SRE/Platform team, setting culture, standards and engineering excellence.
  • Ensure the platform meets UK regulatory and risk expectations, supporting audits and embedding FCA/PRA-aligned operational controls.

What’s In It for You

  • Strategic ownership of a high-profile national platform with real industry impact.
  • Opportunity to build a UK SRE capability from the ground up with global visibility.
  • Work in a modern, cloud-native environment (AWS, Terraform, observability stacks, automation-first mindset).
  • Hybrid working — approx. 20–25 office days per year (London or Leeds).
  • Salary up to £95,000.
