We’re supporting a well-established business within the utilities sector as they continue investing in their internal data and reporting capability. They’re looking for a Power BI Developer to join a growing team and play a key role in improving how data is used across the business, with a particular focus on finance reporting and business insights. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their BI career who wants to step into a role with genuine ownership, visibility and plenty of room to grow.
The business is going through a significant shift towards more data-driven decision making, with a strong focus on improving reporting quality, consistency and accessibility. As part of this journey, they’re bringing more BI capability in-house and separating reporting from the wider data engineering function. This role will sit firmly on the Business Intelligence / reporting side, focusing on building meaningful dashboards, improving existing reporting and helping stakeholders make better decisions through data. There’s a real opportunity here to help modernise the BI function and influence how reporting evolves across the organisation.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Building and improving dashboards and reports in Power BI
- Working closely with finance and business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements
- Translating business needs into clear, useful reporting outputs
- Creating measures and calculations using DAX
- Supporting light data modelling and analytical layer improvements
- Helping improve reporting standards and dashboard usability
- Supporting business decisions through meaningful data insights
What They’re Looking For:
- Commercial experience using Power BI
- Experience building dashboards and reports for business users
- Good communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Basic understanding of data modelling
- Competent with DAX
- Strong attention to detail and pride in delivering quality work
- Curious mindset and genuine desire to learn and develop
Nice to Have:
- SQL experience
- Azure exposure
- Data warehouse exposure
- Microsoft Fabric exposure
- Azure DevOps exposure
- Background in MI, reporting or analytics roles
