We are looking for an experienced Solutions Architect to join a major transformation programme focused on modernising payments systems. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract offering the chance to shape the architecture of a cloud-native, SaaS-based platform handling multiple UK payment types.
Responsibilities
- Define and deliver end-to-end payments architecture across inbound and outbound flows.
- Work closely with Product Owners, Analysts, and Development teams to ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and resilient.
- Influence the technical roadmap for UK payment rails, including CHAPS, Bacs, Faster Payments, Direct Debits, and credit cards.
- Apply your expertise to modern cloud-native solutions, ensuring integration across multiple applications and data sources.
Essential skills & experience
- Proven experience as a Solutions Architect with a focus on UK payments.
- Hands-on knowledge of CHAPS, Bacs, Faster Payments, Direct Debits, and credit cards.
- Experience delivering solutions in large-scale transformation or modernisation programmes.
- Strong technical understanding of architecture frameworks, scalable design patterns, and cloud platforms (ideally Azure).
Desirable skills
- TOGAF certification or equivalent architectural framework experience.
- Familiarity with payment regulations such as PSD2 / PSD3.
- Experience with SaaS or cloud-native platforms.
