This is a rare opportunity to step in as the VP of Marketing for a ÂŁ5-10m ARR SaaS business with a proven PMF in a pivotal moment of growth as they enter a PE cycle. A chance to rebuild the marketing function into a scalable, data-driven growth engine, achieve a promotion to CMO, and benefit from an equity event. Remote UK. F2F leadership meetings in the Southwest HQ every 2-4 weeks.
My client is an owner managed, bootstrapped SaaS scale-up going through a PE sale in the next 6 months, before entering their next growth cycle. Under ÂŁ10mill ARR, my client has a very strong reputation in their market, some very loyal partnerships with well recognised global brands (over 90% retention rate) and ambition to grow 3X in the next 4-5 years. Their products sell B2B, with one arm self-serve (20% of revenue) and the other enterprise sales (80% of revenue).
How you'll make an impact
Reporting to the CEO, this role requires someone who can transform the marketing function. Currently marketing lacks structure, clear direction, and isn't scalable. You'll rebuild the marketing strategy, layer in AI-driven efficiency, and own the P&L for the selfâserve product (circa ÂŁ1.5m). Alongside this, you'll create a demand engine that feeds both selfâserve and enterprise revenue. You will lead and develop a team of 4 FTE but still thrive being handsâon. We're looking for someone who is obsessed with data and proves what is working with numbers.
Why our client is excited about you
The right VP of Marketing hire will be able to give confidence to the CEO that they have the track record to do this autonomously and can develop into their future CMO. We're looking for a proven track record in a fastâgrowth SaaS startup with a similar revenue model (selfâserve + enterprise) and size/stage.
We're interested in candidates who can demonstrate:
- You have scaled pipeline and revenue in a ÂŁ5â20mill ARR SaaS environment, as a 'Head of', Director or VP.
- You can build and optimise a fullâfunnel growth engine, and you're familiar with the selfâserve model. Owning attribution, funnel metrics, and using data to make and defend decisions on spend, channels and performance.
- You're excited by walking into an underdeveloped function, spotting the opportunity, and implementing structure, prioritisation, and performance.
- You're comfortable with the existing tech stack â Hubspot (essential), Clay, Webflow CMS, and have prior experience introducing AI tools for efficiency.
What you'll get in return
The VP Marketing will have the unique opportunity to take a business through a full PE cycle from start to finish, with equity attached. Joining as VP and exiting as CMO in 4â5 years. Salary ÂŁ105,000 - ÂŁ120,000 + Bonus + Equity + PMI. We invite applications from all qualified candidates who believe they meet the requirements of the role, whilst supporting and promoting equality and diversity to create an inclusive working environment for all.
