We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive specification growth across Greater London, with a strong focus on developing strategic relationships within leading engineering consultancies, MEP design teams, planning offices, general contractors, and building owners.
This role is heavily focused on business development and influencing specifications upstream with major consultancy groups such as WSP, Arup, AECOM, Buro Happold, Hoare Lea, Jacobs, AtkinsRéalis, Cundall, Ramboll, Sweco and similar engineering organisations operating across major national and international projects.
Success in this role will come from strong existing relationships within engineering consultancies and a proven ability to influence consulting engineers and mechanical teams at design stage to secure specification positioning on major projects.
This opportunity could suit professionals currently working under titles such as Specification Sales Manager, Sales Manager, Regional Sales Manager, Territory Sales Manager, Specification Sales, or Sales Engineer focused on consultants and MEP consultancies.
- Strategically evaluate and prioritise the Greater London territory alongside the Regional Business Development Manager, identifying target consultancy accounts and high-value projects.
- Develop and execute an annual business development plan to increase specification influence across key engineering consultancies and design teams.
- Build and strengthen relationships with consulting engineers, MEP consultants, mechanical design teams, contractors, and building owners.
- Drive specification growth through owner guidelines, master specifications, and project specifications.
- Influence project specifications at design stage across major commercial construction developments.
- Prepare technical proposals and tender submissions using the full product portfolio for building services and mechanical engineering applications.
- Utilise Salesforce to manage.
