About the Opportunity

Our client, a leading public sector technology programme, is seeking an experienced AWS DevOps Engineer to support the High‑Level Design (HLD) and prototyping phase of a large‑scale Cloud Migration initiative. You will play a critical role in modernising a major database platform as part of a strategic move to AWS. This is a high‑visibility transformation project focused on cloud‑native architecture, automation, and containerisation. This engagement offers strong technical exposure, meaningful impact, and the opportunity to contribute to a nationally significant programme.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and optimise CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD (GitOps approach) and Helm
  • Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform
  • Support containerisation and migration of legacy batch workloads into Kubernetes environments
  • Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to enhance build, deployment, and operational workflows
  • Maintain version control systems, artifact registries, and pipeline integrations
  • Ensure AWS environments align with best practices for security, scalability, and reliability

Required Experience & Skills

  • Proven DevOps engineering experience in cloud‑first environments
  • Hands‑on expertise with:
    • GitLab CI/CD
    • ArgoCD
    • Helm
    • Terraform
    • Kubernetes
  • Strong understanding of GitOps methodologies
  • Experience supporting cloud migration or transformation programmes
  • Familiarity with AWS architecture and operational best practices
