Location: Hemel Hempstead (UK)
Our client, a leading international engineering and construction specialist, is seeking a Senior Electrical Project Manager to join their growing team delivering high-profile data centre projects in the UK.
This is a key leadership role responsible for driving the successful delivery of mission-critical electrical packages on complex, large-scale developments. While data centre experience is highly desirable, candidates with strong experience in other technically complex environments will also be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the full lifecycle delivery of electrical systems on major projects, from pre-construction through to commissioning and handover
- Manage multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure programme, quality, and safety targets are achieved
- Oversee design coordination and ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards
- Drive project timelines and budgets, proactively managing risks and resolving technical challenges
- Liaise closely with clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders to maintain strong working relationships
- Ensure all works are delivered in line with health & safety regulations and best practice
- Support commissioning and testing phases, ensuring mission-critical systems meet operational performance requirements
- Provide regular progress reporting and commercial oversight
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Electrical Project Manager / Senior Electrical Project Manager on large-scale construction projects
- Strong technical knowledge of electrical building services systems
- Experience on data centre, mission-critical, or similarly complex projects is highly desirable (e.g. healthcare, pharma, semiconductor, industrial)
- Demonstrated ability to manage large teams and multiple subcontractors
- Strong commercial awareness and experience managing project budgets
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
