  • Apply Lean manufacturing tools and problem-solving techniques to reduce waste and improve flow.
  • Ensure machines operate at maximum efficiency, escalating issues when required.
  • Maintain high housekeeping and 5S standards throughout the CNC department.
  • Support first-off inspections, in-process checks, and operator-led quality control.
  • Coach operators to consistently follow work instructions, quality procedures, and cleanliness requirements.
  • Support recruitment and selection of CNC operators and other departmental staff.
  • Lead onboarding and induction processes for all new starters.
  • Identify skill gaps and arrange cross-training opportunities.
  • Contribute to the creation and upkeep of competency matrices and personal development plans.
  • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture within the team.
  • Conduct basic risk assessments and ensure PPE and safety procedures are followed.
  • Respond promptly to near misses and incidents.
  • Coordinate with the maintenance team to plan preventative maintenance, complete repairs, and maintain CNC equipment in optimum condition.

  • Strong understanding of CNC operations, tooling, and production workflows.
  • Proven leadership or supervisory experience in a production setting.
  • Experience in Lean manufacturing and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience in recruitment, onboarding, and team development.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
