CORE POWER was founded in 2018 to solve the world's energy challenges by delivering ship-based power directly to the industries and economies driving global prosperity, overcoming the barriers that have held nuclear energy back.

CORE POWER builds, integrates and deploys ship-based nuclear energy systems. We build and support two classes of vessel: moored ship-shaped power plants, or FNPPs, that generate high-density energy, and nuclear-powered commercial ships that will speed up global trade.

Role Summary:

The HR Intern will have a unique opportunity to gain experience in a career focused on people and optimising work environments. The position will provide exposure to a broad range of HR initiatives and develop the necessary tools, skills, and insights needed to excel as a HR Generalist in the business world. From hands-on project involvement and task management to supporting HR processes, every step of your journey will help build a strong foundation for your future success. The position is office-based at the company’s headquarters in Chiswick and would suit someone looking to begin a career in HR. Upon completion of a successful internship, there is the opportunity for this to become a full-time role.

Our ideal candidate is a motivated and detail-oriented individual, recently graduated, with a bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, psychology, organisational development, or a related field, to join our dynamic HR team. With your strong organisational skills, adaptable mindset, and commitment to maintaining a professional, smooth-running office, you will thrive in a collaborative, people-first setting that values innovation and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

The key responsibilities for the role are:

  • Maintain an accurate and efficient HR database, ensuring all employee documentation, changes, and records are up to date.
  • Support the full recruitment cycle including posting job ads, shortlisting, liaising with candidates, and scheduling interviews.
  • Support onboarding for new hires, including scheduling inductions and preparing documentation.
  • Assist with employee engagement activities, team-building events, and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Address day-to-day HR queries in line with policies and procedures.
  • Perform general HR administrative tasks and support ad-hoc departmental projects.
  • Support office operations to ensure smooth day-to-day functioning.

Educational and Behavioural Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, psychology, organizational development, or a related field.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Basic understanding of HR administration processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, projects, and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Basic understanding of HR compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to produce reports and manage HR data accurately.
