The Business Analyst plays a crucial role in analysing data and assimilating and summarising a wide variety of technical and economic information from across many different company projects, alongside market insights and sector and customer characteristics. By communicating those results effectively, they will provide strategic insights to help the Market Development and Business Development Departments share CORE POWER’s narrative and offering with potential private and public sector customers, partners, suppliers, regulators and other stakeholders. This role requires a strategic thinker with a high level of attention to detail, excellent engagement and communication skills and the ability to handle multiple analytical projects.

This role reports to the Director of Analytics as a member of the Analytics Team. He/she is the key analytical business partner to the Market Development and Business Development Departments. Stakeholder engagement with the Group Head Market Development, Group Head Business Development and other senior business Managers is essential to this role’s success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Working closely with the leadership of the Market Development, Business Development and Product Development Departments to develop data, information, reference materials and resources to evidence CORE POWER’s progress in developing both floating nuclear power plants and nuclear-propelled commercial shipping and to shape market engagement.
  • Authoring thought-leadership documents and market deep-dives, and reviewing external communication material to ensure technical rigour.
  • Contributing to a collaborative and productive working environment within the Analytics Team to ensure the successful delivery of all projects.
  • Capturing, building and sharing analytical knowledge and capabilities.
  • Identifying market knowledge gaps within the CORE POWER teams and taking the initiative to rectify and subsequently strengthen the commercial proposition.
Job Requirements
  • Organisational connectivity: proactively build relationships across the organisation to gather input from various sources and consolidate this into key takeaways. Synthesise often diverse and detailed sets of information and data into concise forms for sharing with a specific stakeholder or target audience.
  • Strategic Planning: contribute to the strategic planning process by providing insights to support CORE POWER’s relationships with third parties. Outputs might include financial analysis relating to asset investment strategies, competitive analysis of alternative technical solutions, and the development of insights to underpin commercial strategies for floating nuclear power plants and nuclear‑propelled ships.
  • Data Analysis: analyse historical data and current market trends to identify patterns to inform decision-making and market engagement strategies and utilise statistical models and technical indicators to evaluate technical and business market movements to underpin scenario planning.
  • Forecasting: forecast future market behaviour using various techniques, including trend analysis and technical indicators, to predict technical, business and market trends and to propose deployment scenarios that balance technical capabilities with cost and revenue projections.
  • Collaboration: work closely with other teams within the organisation and build on insights to align with broader business objectives; maintain a repository of analytical project documentation and lessons learned.
  • Cross-functional communication skills: distil insights from different teams and functions into clear, actionable outputs, and convey often complex information in a clear and concise manner vital for collaborating with team members and presenting findings to stakeholders.
Educational Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Economics or similar discipline.
  • A relevant master’s degree or MBA is advantageous.
Work Experience
  • 3-4 years of relevant experience, preferably in investment banking, consulting or investor relations. Experience in similar in-house roles will be considered.
  • Experience in collaborating with multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience in contributing to market engagement, strategic planning or similar.
  • Experience with Excel and other analytical software and tools (e.g. Python, Tableau, Power BI etc.)
  • Experience in processing and analysing marketing data.
  • The role is numbers-heavy, so this role will be best for someone who loves analysing data, finding patterns, and extracting stories from that data.
  • Strong understanding of analytical methodologies and best practice.
  • Good understanding of nuclear and/or marine engineering preferred.
  • Excellent collaboration and team interaction skills.
  • Exceptional strategic communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
