We currently have a vacancy for an Environmental and Sustainability Lead. This is a remote role covering all of our operations in England and Wales and will also cover the SHEQ requirements for our South East region.
The Role:
- To lead on Group environmental and sustainability performance and compliance initiatives with a particular focus on leading our existing Carbon Net Zero plan across the Group and to support continual improvement in our environmental and sustainability activity through measurement and monitoring.
- This role is also responsible for covering the company’s SHEQ responsibilities for our 5 depots in the South East.
Responsible for:
- Leading on Group environmental and sustainability performance to maintain legal compliance, meet statutory reporting obligations and drive the Group Carbon Net Zero plan.
- Engaging with business leaders and managers to lead our operational environmental and sustainability agenda including carbon reduction strategy and continued certification to ISO 14001 and other SSIP.
- Ensuring central records of all environmental and sustainability activity are accurate and complete.
- Supporting our win work community and the wider business in tender responses and the creation of positive environmental and sustainability case studies.
- Taking ownership of the company’s SHEQ responsibilities across our 5 depots in the South East.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience of hands-on responsibility for environmental and sustainability performance and compliance on a national scale.
- Extensive knowledge of Carbon Management including relevant legislation and reporting.
- Membership of IEMA would be beneficial.
- The role will require travel across the South East and occasionally nationwide and therefore a driving licence and flexibility to meet business demands is essential.
- IOSH and NEBOSH qualifications desirable.
- SHEQ Experience in a multi depot or similar environment.
