Core Highways are a leading provider of temporary traffic management, barrier solutions and events signage. We currently have a vacancy for an IT Support Engineer working remotely but with frequent travel around England. For the first few months depending upon candidate location, weekly overnight stays will be required as you get up to speed. Supporting our Group IT Manager, you will be part of a busy IT department who currently provide technical IT support to remote staff across the UK.
- Providing telephone-based IT support for all IT devices used by office and mobile staff, including remote assistance where required.
- Delivering occasional field-based IT support, which may involve overnight stays from time to time.
- Building, configuring, and deploying computer and mobile hardware using Intune.
- Assisting with maintaining and updating the asset register for all computer hardware and IT equipment.
- Creating, maintaining, and managing user accounts within NetSuite and Entra.
- Supporting network infrastructure as required, including Starlink, mobile connectivity, and WiFi.
- Installing and maintaining the VoIP-based telephone system.
- Supplying, setting up, and supporting mobile devices, including troubleshooting and fault resolution.
- Supporting and configuring the Microsoft 365 platform, including occasional development work.
- Liaising with third-party suppliers and vendors to ensure a high level of IT support for users across Core Highways.
- Where training is required to carry out any of the above duties, this will be provided in-house using the company’s cutting-edge training platform.
Proven experience in a comparable IT support or technical role.
- Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to support users at all levels of the organisation.
- Good technical knowledge of Microsoft 365 and associated applications.
- Strong understanding of mobile devices, including common faults, troubleshooting, and basic repairs.
- Knowledge of server operating systems and Hyper-V environments would be advantageous; however, training will be provided where required.
- Experience supporting IT hardware, software, and user accounts in a business environment.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a busy IT team.
- Full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle, due to occasional field-based support requirements.
Competitive salary of £32,500-£37,500 per annum (depending on experience).
