We currently have a vacancy for a Delivery Manager at our Chelmsford Depot.

The Role: You will be responsible for leading a team of operatives in a Hub Depot as a first level supervisor/line manager, supporting and deputising for the Depot Manager as required. As part of your role, you will be required to:

  • Take responsibility for the operatives, their workload and scheduling to maximise effectiveness.
  • Ensure effective depot co-ordination and scheduling of resources and the team.
  • Ensure equipment and job packs are ready to enable excellent customer management and delivery.
  • Communicate on resources with others, such as collaborating with other Delivery Managers to share resources.
  • Drive the productivity of the depot through smart scheduling and booking multiple jobs per day as appropriate.

  • Delivery and customer service focused.
  • Organised with good attention to detail and ability to solve problems as they arise.
  • The ability to successfully lead and manage an operational team.
  • The ability to prioritise and manage multiple competing demands in a pressurised delivery environment.
  • Resilient and self-motivated with a personal drive for continuous improvement.
  • Able to coach and develop others towards improvement.
  • Can actively contribute to group initiatives such as the Streamline Programme, role modelling to others.
