We currently have a vacancy for a Business Development Manager (South East). This is a remote role and will cover our Chelmsford, Maidstone, Garboldisham, and Horsham depots. Reporting in to the Regional Managing Director, this role will be responsible for being an active member of the Win Work function leading a team of BDM's, leading the growth of the business across multiple customer groups in the assigned geographical locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To drive and win profitable work for the region through a mix of business retention and new business acquisition.
  • Directly inputting into the development and growth of the organisation as per the Regional Strategies.
  • Working with and supporting the Regional Directors and Regional Managing Director to profitably grow the region.
  • Involved in identifying, prioritising and winning local opportunities across the region.
  • Generating sales leads, using the pipeline and other tools to monitor performance, ensuring that data is accurate and used to drive improvements and forecasting.
  • Monthly, weekly and daily reporting to monitor performance and activity.
  • Ensure winning bid strategies are in place for selected opportunities.
  • Support the tender process for opportunities, both in quality and from a commercial perspective.
  • Personally own a number of customer relationships and act as KAM for an agreed portfolio of customers.
  • Meeting targets and KPI's set as part of the Win Work strategy.
  • Use customer feedback and partake in regular win/loss reviews to celebrate success or ensure that lessons learnt are embedded.
  • Actively engaged in implementing the regional business retention and new business acquisition plans.
  • Undertake customer satisfaction and drive NPS reporting.
  • Develop and maintain key relationships with other customers across the Region.
  • Assess opportunities to identify key customers and key target areas to develop a broad and appropriately balanced client base linked to the Regional strategy.
  • Act as an advocate from the Win Work Centre of Excellence and ensure bid governance is followed.

Skills and Experience:

  • A track record of success in business development, customer relationship management and bid work with a highly customer service focused approach.
  • Ability to assess and prioritise, making strategic decisions that will support the business strategy for development.
  • Resilient and self-motivated with a personal drive for continuous improvement.
  • Ability to communicate and work with multiple teams and customers to achieve business goals.
  • Experience within Traffic Management.
  • KPI and target driven, able to meet and exceed regional targets.
  • Can actively contribute to group initiatives such as the Streamline Programme, role modelling to others.
