Teaching Assistant Required
Location: Primary Schools (EYFS – KS5) – Runcorn
Start Date: Immediate or September 2025
Contract: Full-time, ongoing (part time hours will be considered)
Core Education is looking to appoint a proactive and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support pupils in a lovely Primary school. This role involves assisting with sports and outdoor education activities, helping pupils engage and develop their skills in a supportive environment. The position is full-time and available for an immediate start.
The ideal candidate for this Teaching Assistant role will have prior experience working with children and a background in sports or physical activities is highly advantageous.
Key Responsibilities of the Teaching Assistant:
- Assist teachers in planning and delivering sports sessions tailored to the needs of the pupils
- Encourage pupil participation and promote positive behaviour
- Help with the setup, supervision, and safe use of sports equipment and outdoor spaces
- Support pupils physical, social, and emotional development through structured activities
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and other professionals to meet individual pupil needs
- Maintain records of pupil participation and progress in sports activities
- Promote a safe and inclusive environment for all pupils during physical activities
Requirements for the Teaching Assistant role:
- Eligibility to work in the UK
- Recent experience working with children within the last two years is essential
- Experience working with pupils with Special Educational Needs
- Excellent knowledge of the curriculum and assessment frameworks
- Ability to provide two professional references from recent roles working with children
- Hold a current DBS registered with the update service or be willing to apply for a new one
