This is a senior site‑based quality assurance role supporting high‑spec commercial fit‑out and laboratory projects in Central London. You will take ownership of QA/QC processes across mechanical and electrical installations, ensuring all works meet project specifications, relevant standards, and internal quality requirements. Working closely with the QA/QC Manager, you will act as a key quality authority on site, driving compliance, inspection discipline, and continuous improvement across subcontractor delivery. This is a hands‑on role focused on technical assurance, documentation control, and maintaining the highest standards of installation quality in complex live project environments.

What You'll Do

  • Coordinate and implement the Project Quality Plan, inspection and test plans, and site quality procedures across all subcontracted works
  • Review system scope, specifications, and installation requirements with a focus on pipework installation and weld quality
  • Ensure adherence to quality plans and defined project requirements
  • Oversee and enforce site inspection, testing, and quality control processes across all systems
  • Attend quality review meetings as required
  • Provide structured feedback to the QA/QC Manager, including weekly reporting and improvement recommendations
  • Generate, manage, and close out punch lists, ensuring timely resolution of defects and non‑conformances
  • Produce and maintain quality performance statistics for tracking and reporting purposes
  • Coordinate system walkdowns with subcontractors and project stakeholders
  • Support scheduling and prioritisation of inspections and quality checks across multiple systems
  • Maintain clear, accurate, and auditable QA/QC documentation across all project activities
  • Support site teams with compliance queries and ensure adherence to agreed quality standards
  • Carry out any additional reasonable duties as directed by management

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in a QA/QC Engineer or similar quality‑focused role within M&E or construction
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical installation processes, particularly pipework and welding standards
  • Experience working within structured Quality Management Systems and project quality plans
  • Ability to prioritise workload across multiple systems and deadlines
  • Strong communication skills with experience engaging subcontractors and site teams
  • High level of attention to detail with strong reporting and documentation skills
  • Accountable, reliable, and confident taking ownership of quality issues on site
  • Understanding of Health, Safety & Environmental systems within construction environments

Desirable Experience

  • Previous experience on commercial fit‑out or laboratory projects
  • Familiarity with large‑scale subcontractor management environments
  • Experience producing QA/QC reporting, KPIs, and quality statistics
  • Understanding of ISO-based quality systems or similar frameworks
  • Background working in fast‑paced, high‑spec construction environments
