We're working with a growing building controls specialist that is looking to appoint an experienced BMS Design Engineer to support the delivery of complex Building Management System projects across the UK. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong engineer who is looking to broaden their experience across the full project lifecycle and progress into a more senior project engineering role.
The Role
You will be responsible for the design, technical coordination and delivery of BMS and Energy Management System solutions, working closely with engineering, commissioning and project delivery teams from concept through to handover.
Responsibilities
- BMS and EMS design development
- Production of points schedules and control strategies
- Development of descriptions of operation (DBOs)
- Specification and coordination of control panels, valves, actuators and field devices
- BMS network architecture and systems design
- Mechanical, electrical and multidisciplinary coordination
- Software and graphics review and coordination
- Third-party system integrations
- Support for FAT, SAT and commissioning activities
- Technical support during installation and project delivery
- Production of as-built documentation and O&M manuals
- Technical coordination with consultants, contractors and end users
Requirements
- Proven experience within the BMS industry
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems and controls
- Experience developing points schedules and control strategies
- Knowledge of BMS hardware, control panels and field devices
- Experience with system integration and network architecture
- Ability to review mechanical and electrical drawings
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
