Fire & Security Service Engineer – Southwark, London\\n\\nJob Title: Fire & Security Service Engineer\\n Department: Service / Engineering\\n Reports To: Field Line Manager\\n Job Type: Full Time, Permanent (40 hours per week)\\n Primary Location: Field-based – Southwark Borough, London\\n Salary: Β£48,000 – Β£52,000 per annum (depending on experience)\\n\\nRole Description\\n\\nWe are seeking an experienced Fire & Security Service Engineer to support service and maintenance works across the Southwark borough. This is a local-patch role, focused on servicing, fault-finding, and small works across a range of fire and security systems while delivering excellent customer service and maintaining full compliance with industry standards.\\n\\nMain Duties & Responsibilities\\n\\nPreparation & Planning\\n\\nMaintain accurate van stock control and equipment storage in coordination with the Stores function\\n\\nComplete monthly vehicle, compliance, and health & safety checks\\n\\nRemain up to date with industry developments to ensure best-practice service delivery\\n\\nService Delivery & Fault Resolution\\n\\nService, maintain, and carry out small works on:\\n\\nFire Alarm Systems\\n\\nCCTV Systems\\n\\nIntruder Alarms\\n\\nAccess Control Systems\\n\\nDiagnose and rectify system faults efficiently and professionally\\n\\nRespond promptly to reactive call-outs within the local area\\n\\nProvide on-site technical support and complete accurate service reports and job documentation\\n\\nCompliance & Quality\\n\\nEnsure all works comply with company procedures, British Standards, and health & safety regulations\\n\\nProactively identify and report any compliance or safeguarding issues\\n\\nCustomer Engagement & Collaboration\\n\\nBuild and maintain strong working relationships with clients\\n\\nRepresent the business professionally as the frontline engineer\\n\\nAdvise customers on system improvements, upgrades, and lifecycle planning\\n\\nIdentify opportunities to enhance customer safety provisions and report to Service Coordinators for quotation follow-up\\n\\nWork collaboratively with Service Coordinators to support workflow efficiency and customer satisfaction\\n\\nFlexibility & Responsiveness\\n\\nParticipate in an out-of-hours call-out and/or technical support rota where required\\n\\nSkills & Experience\\n\\nExperience\\n\\nIdeally 2–3+ years’ experience servicing and maintaining fire and security systems\\n\\nTechnical Skills\\n\\nFault diagnosis and rectification across fire and security systems\\n\\nServicing and maintenance of life safety and security systems\\n\\nAccurate completion of technical documentation\\n\\nUse of specialist tools and test equipment\\n\\nWorking knowledge of relevant standards (e.g. BS5839, NSI, BAFE)\\n\\nUnderstanding of IP, networked, and IoT-based systems (desirable, not essential)\\n\\nCompetencies\\n\\nStrong customer service and communication skills\\n\\nReliable, punctual, and well organised\\n\\nProactive problem-solving approach\\n\\nHigh attention to detail\\n\\nProfessional appearance and conduct\\n\\nCollaborative and respectful team player\\n\\nRequirements\\n\\nLegal right to work in the UK (essential)\\n\\nAbility to pass an enhanced DBS check (essential)\\n\\nIndustry-recognised fire and security qualifications (desirable)\\n\\n18th Edition (desirable)
