Reports to: Lead Project Manager
Role Purpose
The ESH and Security Manager will act as the company’s lead representative for all Environmental, Safety, Health, Security, and Configuration Management matters across the Delivery Partner Contract and associated Task Orders. The postholder will ensure that all project operations are delivered safely, sustainably, and in full compliance with statutory, client, and company standards. This role includes reviewing and approving all ESH documentation prior to client submission and driving a strong culture of safety, environmental stewardship, and security awareness across all project activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary point of contact for the Client on all Environmental, Safety, Health, and Security matters.
- Lead the implementation and ongoing management of the company’s ESH and Security systems in line with legal, regulatory, and client requirements.
- Review and approve all ESH documentation, plans, and reports before issue to the Client.
- Develop, update, and manage project-specific ESH plans, RAMS, and compliance documents.
- Oversee incident investigations, reporting, and the implementation of corrective/preventive actions.
- Manage site security measures including access control, protocols, and protective systems.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure contractor and subcontractor compliance.
- Provide expert guidance to project teams on ESH best practice and continuous improvement.
- Coordinate configuration and change management activities where they relate to ESH or security.
- Deliver or facilitate ESH training, toolbox talks, and briefings.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies, external authorities, and client representatives as required.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Health & Safety, Environmental Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience managing ESH and Security on major construction, infrastructure, or demolition projects (essential).
- Chartered or certified membership of IOSH, IIRSM, IEMA, or equivalent (desirable).
- Strong working knowledge of UK safety legislation, environmental compliance, and security systems.
- Proven experience in risk management, auditing, and incident investigation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage and influence at all levels.

Additional Information
