We are seeking a professional HGV Class 2 Skip Drivers to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating a commercial lorry to collect and deliver skips across various locations within Colchester Area. This role requires a reliable individual with a strong focus on safety, customer service, and efficient driving. The position offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers as well as a potential to become a skip driver with full in-house training offered to the right candidate to utilize their skills in a dynamic environment, ensuring timely and secure transportation of waste materials.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class 2 HGV lorry, primarily for skip collection and delivery
- Load and unload skips using appropriate equipment, ensuring secure placement
- Conduct daily vehicle safety checks and report any maintenance issues promptly
- Follow designated routes and schedules to meet delivery deadlines
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries and collections
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including compliance with road traffic laws
- Provide excellent customer service by engaging professionally with clients during drop-offs and collections
- Ensure the vehicle is kept clean and well-maintained throughout the shift
Skills
- Valid HGV Class 2 license with relevant driving experience
- Proven commercial driving experience, ideally within waste management or skip hire services
