We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Multi-Skilled Systems Engineer with a strong background in Fire, Intruder, Access Control, and CCTV systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for the service, maintenance and small works installation of a range of life safety and security systems, ensuring all works are completed in compliance with company standards, regulatory requirements, and best industry practices. This is a multi-disciplinary role requiring excellent technical ability, strong organisational skills, and a professional approach to client engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all service, maintenance, and repair works are carried out in accordance with the company’s management system, compliance standards, and approval body requirements.
  • Work closely with the FDA Operations Manager to plan and deliver Preventative Maintenance (PM), Corrective Action Reports (CAR), and remedial works.
  • Participate in the on-call rota, anticipated at 1 in 3.
  • Prepare and maintain all Health & Safety documentation, including Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), ensuring accuracy, compliance, and correct filing.
  • Complete all certification documentation in a timely manner, ensuring copies are returned and filed for O&M manuals and job records.
  • Maintain and promote the company’s high service and workmanship standards at all times.
  • Support surveys, client liaison, and assist with business development activities where required.

Duties Include

  • Fire alarm servicing, maintenance and small works installations.
  • Fault finding, programming, and alterations on Conventional, Addressable, and Wireless Fire Alarm Systems.
  • Servicing, maintenance, fault finding and small works installation of Access control systems and CCTV systems.

Operations & Planning

  • Work collaboratively with the FDA Operations Manager to effectively manage engineers, subcontractors, and company resources.
  • Assist with day-to-day, weekly, and monthly planning and scheduling of works.
  • Conduct system surveys and liaise directly with clients to understand requirements and deliver solutions.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a multi-skilled engineer across Fire, Intruder, Access Control, and CCTV systems, with a minimum of 1–2 years of experience.
  • Good understanding of relevant British Standards and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Full UK driving licence (essential).

33 days holiday per annum, including statutory holidays and company shutdown over the Christmas and New Year period (approximately 2 weeks). Working hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 17:00. Company vehicle, laptop/tablet and mobile telephone provided. Full company uniform. Salary TBC based on experience.
