Overview
Role: SEND Teacher (Contract: Full-Time Term Time Only). Daily rate: £140 – £250 per day. Location: Manchester. Start date: ASAP. Term: 6 months.
We are seeking a SEND Teacher for a partnering school in Manchester to support the learning and development of pupils. The school provides a safe and supportive environment for pupils from 5 to 18 years old with the aim of helping learners thrive, feel supported, safe and ready to contribute to the wider community.
The successful applicant will have the opportunity to contribute to a school with significant investment and new resources, shaping a supportive environment that promotes self-discipline, engagement and learning. They work with several schools across the UK to provide tailored education, and their services have been rated Good or Outstanding by Ofsted.
Responsibilities
- Plan and teach well-structured lessons to assigned classes, following the school\’s plans, curriculum and schemes of work
- Assess, monitor, record and report on the learning needs, progress and achievements of assigned pupils, making accurate and productive use of assessment
- Adapt teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of pupils
- Set high standards which inspire, motivate and challenge pupils
- Promote good progress outcomes
- Demonstrate secure subject and curriculum knowledge
- Participate in arrangements for preparing learners for external tests
- Be able to teach up to GCSE in a subject specialist area
- Be able to adapt learning to meet learners with SEND
Requirements
- Qualified teacher status (QTS)
- Degree
- Successful teaching experience
- Experience delivering qualifications up to GCSE
- Knowledge of the National Curriculum
- Knowledge of effective teaching and learning strategies
- A good understanding of how children learn
- Ability to adapt teaching to meet pupils\\\’ needs
- Ability to build effective working relationships with pupils
- Knowledge of child protection and safeguarding practices and protocols
- Knowledge of effective behaviour management strategies
- Good ICT skills, particularly using ICT to support learning
- Experience in teaching Maths is desirable and ideally experience of teaching Core subjects
- DBS on the update service or willingness to have a new one processed
- Ability to provide references covering the last two years
